When did you attend Harlaxton?

I attended in spring of 2019.

Did you have any unique experiences during your time at Harlaxton?

Brexit was underway and the fire of the beautiful Notre-Dame occurred on Aril 15, 2019.

Does Harlaxton still feel like a second home? Have you returned since studying abroad?

Harlaxton will forever be a second home to me. I remember feeling the warm wave of relief overcome me when I saw those gates leading up to the manor symbolizing that I had safely arrived home from another weekend away. My Meet-A-Family experience also provided me with a second home away from home while studying abroad. I hope to be able to revisit both my host family as well the manor someday.

Do you have a favorite trip from your time at Harlaxton?

Cinque Terre, Italy, which translates to five villages in Italian, was the most incredible trip I’ve ever been on. While I was there, I was able to hike through mountains and discover rosemary and lemon farms, feel the warmth of the Italian sun from above, as well sand between my toes below on the Monterosso beach bordering the Mediterranean Sea. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my experience of tasting the most delectable pesto pasta and pastries!! It truly was a trip of a lifetime.

Did your time at Harlaxton have any influence on your future? Was it a life-changing experience?

Studying abroad was the most eye-opening, stimulating, and adventurous experiences I have ever encountered. It allowed for me to become a more independent, cultured, and responsible adult while also driving me to branch out and create connections with not only students from varying campuses at Harlaxton but with people I met while traveling through a vast amount of countries
