Introduction
Welcome to Harlaxton, University of Evansville students! Spending a semester or summer at Harlaxton is an amazing part of the UE experience, and we hope you make the most of this opportunity. Here are some of the main things you may be wondering about how to make your Harlaxton experience happen as a University of Evansville student.
How do I sign up?
The Harlaxton application process is easy and all online! You will apply and later complete pre-departure materials on myHarlaxton.
On myHarlaxton, you'll see all the different program options that you can apply to for Harlaxton and other study abroad options. Clicking into those will take you to a page where you can just click “Apply Now” to start your application.
When prompted to log in to the system, just use your usual UE login as you would for other campus systems like Blackboard.
There will be several questionnaires to complete on the application and a $45 application fee. Once those are done, you will receive a status update in just a few days!
When can I go to Harlaxton?
UE students can go to Harlaxton any time after they have completed their first two semesters on campus in Evansville. So the earliest time in your academic career that you can go would be the summer after your freshman year!
Typically, you will want to apply to Harlaxton about 1 year before you want to go to Harlaxton. So if you want to go in the fall of your sophomore year, you will need to apply in the fall of your freshman year.
When should I go to Harlaxton for my major or interest?
Many majors at UE have a semester or summer at Harlaxton worked into the degree plan. For example, nursing students always go to Harlaxton in the fall of their senior year. For other majors, the best time to go to Harlaxton depends on what courses we are offering, what general education requirements you will need to complete, and if a professor from your area is planning to teach at Harlaxton.
Either way, the best way to find the best time for your Harlaxton experience is to talk with your academic advisor(s) or someone from the department of Academic Advising at UE.
